Freakjam 2

Remember in 2024 when I somehow roped a bunch of people into doing a Super Freaks themed game jam? Well, we did it again! Freakjam 2 is here, with another 9 games for you to sink your freaky teeth into!

SUPER FREAKIO BROS. (FREAKJAM EDITION)

One of two mashups of Super Freaks and Mario this year, Super Freakio Bros. is basically if Super Mario Bros. 1 and Super Freaks 1 Ultimate Edition were thrown in a blender. Sadly this game is pretty short (only 3 levels) due to me spending a lot of time making a fancy Game Maker framework that wound up giving me problems regardless...so anyways, I started learning Godot the other day--

GAMBI GHOST'S GHOULISH GAUNTLET

20 years ago, Gambi was trapped in the Spider Maze and escaped, being forced to leave his former friend Geyzer behind. Here's the story of what happened immediately after, and it's a wild ride. Gambi is cursed to only move forward, and needs to swap colored blocks in and out of other dimensions to get by. Also comes with Freakloader and a Level Builder!

STICKY'S SPLOSIVE STACKER

Dr. Robotnik had his bean machine, Sticky's now got to stack explosives to save his prostate, in this crazy competitive puzzle game! You'll need to keep stacking metal blocks in order to combo on top of them. Making combos will drop the infamous Cracker Barrels on top of your opponent's field, but beware! They can do it right back to you!

SUPER FREAKS PRESENTS: SWORDMAZE

By far the most technically impressive game here, and also the one with the smallest filesize. Swordmaze is a playable Sega Genesis rom coded with SGDK, so you'll need an emulator capable of playing Genesis/Mega Drive games to play this one. Uncle Swordsman escapes from a maze inside of Castle Kranion, the twist being that the enemies only move when you do! You'll need to bump them from the side in order to kill them and escape the maze.

SUPER FREAKS SURVIVORS

Vampire Survivors if it was Super Freaks! Run around, auto-shooting at Kranibots, collecting yorbs to level up and coins for permanent upgrades between runs. You can enhance your health, speed, strength, and most importantly, your lungs (which also enhances your speed but it's really funny).

SUPER PAPER FREAKS

The other mashup of Mario and Freaks, this is patterned after Super Paper Mario for the Wii, with a flawlessly recreated visual style. Fight Paper Boney M's, Pinheads, and even Paper Kranion in this incredibly funny trip to an opposite dimension that, believe it or not, is an entirely different opposite dimension and not the Negative Zone!

FRANCIS FRENZY

The violent nutcase Francis has his time in the sun in this crazy platformer. Francis has the ability to scream really loud, creating bouncing sound that will kill any Boney M in his path! Journey through Fruit Juice Factory and Mecha Moon while causing as much havoc as possible!

FREAKESTE

Geyzer, member of the Anti Freaks and Gambi's former friend turned heated rival, has a journey of self discovery as he climbs a Mt. Freakeste to get a burger from famously mediocre burger chain McDaniels. And yes, he can in fact air dash!
