So, Super Freaks 1 Ultimate Edition was at SAGE 2022. 

Not that many people played it, which is fine, I wasn’t expecting a lot of downloads. However, I was not expecting the response I got; I knew this game was good, good enough to submit to SAGE, but it appears I’ve underestimated how good it actually is.

I’m not gonna pretend this game is a secret masterpiece or anything, but pretty much the general consensus is the level design is really good, and actually stays fresh through the entire (half) game! Considering Ultimate Edition exists primarily to play around with ideas and mechanics for Super Freaks 4ever, this is a massive confidence booster. On top of that, making good traditional platformer level design is a tricky thing to pull off, so to see that I did it so well is actually crazy. 

I’ll write a proper post-mortem after SAGE’s end. For now, I’m just over the moon thrilled with the feedback I got. Thanks to everyone who played this silly game so far!

If you haven’t played the new demo yet, make sure you do! It’s as polished as I can get it, but hit me with any nitpicks you have and I’ll do my best to fix them.
